Growing a Sustainable Future: EnLevo's Mission to Empower Guatemalan Farmers

Meet some of the families in Cahabon, Guatemala, who are rewriting their future - one plant at a time. In the heart of Cahabon, Guatemala, where the typical daily income is less than $2.50 USD, families struggle with the daily challenge of making ends meet. For years, local farmers have faced the uphill battle of cultivating crops that yield sustainable income.

Recognizing this pressing need, EnLevo's Sustainable Lives program has honed in on Financial Stability as a key pillar of its mission. Through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions, EnLevo is working to create sustainable change in the lives of Cahabon's farming communities.

EnLevo is working on an initiative to bring a new cash crop to the region. Through strategic partnerships, 25,000 have been donated to EnLevo for farmers in the region. These plants have been carefully cultivated and nurtured in a nursery established by EnLevo. Now that the rainy season has begun, these young plants will be transplanted onto local farms, where they will receive care by the farmers and community members.

This project will significantly impact over 100 families across three villages, potentially doubling their income. The increased financial stability will help build stronger, more resilient communities. And there's more - the plants are already producing new growth, which will be nurtured in the nursery and transplanted onto additional farms, helping even more families.
