Jul207 chiefs. Today was a historic day as chiefs from all 207 villages met at the Cahabon municipality. Some chiefs traveled 2-3 hours on dirt roads to attend.
The mayor of the municipality asked us to join him in the stage. Doug and I were introduced and invited to talk briefly about the work we are doing and the “Sustainable Lives” program we are beginning to implement.
Most of the chiefs speak Q’eqchi. Our translator (who speaks English and and Spanish)...
A meeting that will change lives.
Today Doug and I had the opportunity to present a program we have been developing to the Mayor and the City Manager of Cahabon. The program is called “Sustainable Lives: Families in Action.” Basically, in its simplest form, it is a program to help families and communities work to achieve goals in 4 different categories and receive rewards for achieving the goals.
